Jordan, Herington & Rowley, a Denver, Colorado based law firm dedicated to fighting for the rights of the injured, issued a statement following a deadly trench collapse in Windsor.
According to media reports, two workers became trapped inside a 15 foot deep trench when it collapsed. The men were reported to be in their 20’s and 40’s.
While emergency crews worked tirelessly to try and reach the men, by the time they were able to excavate to reach them, they had died from their injuries.
“It is imperative that construction companies take the safety of their employees as their number one priority at all times, especially when they are digging over 15 feet below ground level,” said Jason Jordan, founder and trial lawyer at Jordan, Herington & Rowley. “While it is not yet clear what caused the trench to collapse, precautions should have been taken to prevent the collapse in the first place. Construction companies and supervisors need to take responsibility for worker safety and ensure their construction sites are safe at all times,” added Jordan.
